"Can't"....Is Not In My Vocabulary
Life can feel so restricting at times.... We have this group of people that we turn to with our hopes, dreams, desires, ideas and passions. The world is at our fingertips yet all that we can here from our so called support group is why we "can't" do something or why we "can't" have this or that. Well let me tell you all something... I am so SICK & TIRED of hearing the word CAN'T... Why can't I have a job that I am passionate about? Why can't I acheive the goals that I have set for myself no matter how big or how small? Why can't I have the things that I want out of life? The difference between me and those who thrive off of the word is i BELIEVE in myself and in the idea that I can have whatever I want. And so far, that belief has yet to steer me wrong. Sure things may not be instantaneous because time has to be right and all that jazz but the things I believe in always find their way and their place into my life. I truly feel that believing is half the battle. If your always finding a reason not to do something or why things cannot work out than that will be your life.
But what are you supposed to do if all you ever hear is can't can't can't? This mentality seriously limits a person. This mentality can paralyze and blind you to all of the possibilities there are for you in this world. A little thing my brother and I do when we are feeling trapped and unispired is we go on a drive and find the biggest mansions we can find. Now we come from a good family and a pretty good neighborhood but we sometimes struggle with the idea that there has to be something more out there for us. No matter where you come from, wether you are poor as dirt or rich as hell or fall somewhere in between, it is so important to reach for more and remind your self to keep striving because there is more to life then where you stand at this very momemt. If we were all meant to peak at the point we at right this instant, why keep living? Why are we even still here? Now clearly there is more to life then having a big house and a fancy car but to us those mansions symbolize what could be ours if we refuse to be limited by the expectations and small minded thinking of others. As a gender and women studies major, i learn every day about how our society basically traps us into whatever class we are born into. Sure you may do a bit better than your parent(s) but at the end of day, the majority of people remain in the lower, middle, or upper class they were born into. This is because we are limited (yea yea yea their are power structures and crap like that which make it difficult to change but nonetheless we are limited lol)! Most of us arent afforded the information to get us to the next level and probably dont even know that the next level is even attainable at all. The way the world works sucks sometimes but I really do believe that by exposing yourself to anything and everything positive, dreaming big and often, and believe that anything, even your wildest dreams can come true, the world is yours and anything you want from life is at your fingertips.....
